Betway Premiership club Cape Town City have confirmed the death of one of their essential figures, Mike Comitis, who died at the age of 90 on Wednesday evening.
Comitis, who was regarded as the heart and father of the Citizens, was the father of current Cape Town-based club owner John Comitis.

The elder Comitis was fondly referred to by football lovers as the 'Grandfather of Ajax' during his time serving as general manager at the now-defunct Ajax Cape Town.
In the wake of his passing, PSL players, former footballers, and many football associates, including ex-Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral, have conveyed their heartfelt condolences to City and the Comitis family.
