'Chiefs should have hired Benni after Cape Town City' - fan

With it being reported that Benni McCarthy's uncertain future at Manchester United may have an impact on Kaizer Chief's head-coach decision, fans have expressed their feelings on the matter.

What's the story?

It has been reported that the Soweto giants have agreed a deal that would see Nasreddine Nabi take over the club for the 2024/25 season. However, with McCarthy's future at the English giants said to be unclear given that his contract expires at the end of this month, the Amakhosi hierarchy have something else to think about

Here's what the readers had to say:

"Why don't Manchester United extend his contract. He's been doing great there," says Ntate Otshepeng Martins.

"If KC take Benni then I will know they are not serious. I don't care who says what," says Sibusiso NdujaMo Mlangeni.

"I would like to see Benni Roger De SA on that Chiefs Bench," says Lerothodi Nyatso.

"Chiefs should have hired Benni after his Cape Town City stint because he is that good. I don't know why they didn't because the guy is clearly better than everyone they've hired since Stuart. Benni is a player's coach and he will always have a good rapport with players because he has that. We will sign good players because players would want to play for him and gain that experience that he has. ETH's tenure looks over at Man United and that means Benni will be clueless and that added with his love for Kaizer Chiefs is a no brainer to reign him in. Give him a three year project and you will see Chiefs going back gradually to their best. Trust me," says Vera Gregory.

"So till today Kaizer Chiefs management don't know who's going to be the coach of the club next season," says Siyabulela Nabe.

"He will take them straight to relegation," says Xikombiso Ntwanano Mkansi.

"It has been a while hunting, I wonder if they will ever catch anything on their hunting," says Mondise Sithole.

"It's been nice having a South African coaching a club like Manchester United. Bennie please continue coaching there. You're putting us on the map," says Ntate Otshepeng Martins.

"Haai we don't want him at chiefs yet," says Mthobisi Sibande.

"Save Benny for Pirates. We need him for the future," says Thabiso Jeffrey.

Meanwhile, Former Real Madrid player Robinho is currently serving nine years in a Brazilian prison for the gang rape of an Albanian woman at an Italian club in 2013. He was found guilty in 2017 but was put behind bars in March this year. He has been described to be an "exemplary inmate" by his lawyer Mario Rosso Vale.

Check out what the readers had to say:

"My first time hearing that he was in prison," says Calistus Obitte.

"They want him to be out on parole or presidential pardon soon," says Mo-hale Sathekge.

"People in his situation will blame witchcraft as his career was going good. This is a lesson to other football players," says Ntate Otshepeng Martins.

"I believe he is innocent, Neymar almost fall into the same trap also," says Phindile Piennar.

"That is Brazilian thing," says Criag S'bongile.

"Seems like it is a Brazilian problem regarding their soccer legends havinga a brush with the laws i.e Ronaldinho, Dani Alves now Robinho," says James Mwaura.

"Brazilian players break rules like Kaizer Chiefs players," says Mpumelelo Mngqingo Mdunyelwa.

"Footballers must get Married and stay away from girls," says Prince Mphathi Vilakazi.
