The quartet managed to attend the blockbuster event despite a tight schedule, with Messi having scored a goal and provided two assists during Inter Miami's pre-season match in Honduras just a day before.

The Argentine and his teammates will soon shift focus to the start of the MLS season, where Inter Miami will host New York City FC in the league opener on 22 February.

The club is also set for a busy campaign, with appearances lined up in the FIFA Club World Cup this summer and the Concacaf Champions Cup later this month.

Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes was thrilled to have Messi in attendance and spoke highly of the footballing legend.

"He's the GOAT of his profession. To have someone like that at the game is awesome. I get to showcase who I am and what talent I have," Mahomes told USA Today

"I got to watch him when he played in Kansas City, I think it was last year... and he had two goals in that game. You see the greatness he displays every single day. He's someone I look up to and hope to reach his level someday."

Among the other footballing figures who attended the occassion were FIFA president Gianni Infantino, and Atlético de Madrid stars Antoine Griezmann and Koke.
