Legendary goalkeeper Brian Baloyi was brutal in assessment of Kaizer Chiefs' current players, saying half of them are not quality.
Baloyi, who played for Amakhosi between 1993 and 2004, admitted on Marawa Sports Worldwide that he's not happy with his former club.
Chiefs finished trophy-less last season and saw Arthur Zwane lead the Glamour Boys to a disappointing fifth in the DStv Premiership. The pressure will continue to mount for the Soweto giants, with legends and supporters alike sharing mixed reactions to Molefi Ntseki taking over the head coach role.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "Baloyi bemoans Chiefs' standards lack of quality" story:
"Quality is relative. If you are successful, then everything everyone looks to be of higher standard. Football is about coaching good tactician gets the best out of his players. However, this goes hand-in-hand with the club's ambitions.
"Arrows' ambitions is to remain in the Top 8, the player's standards can only get to that maximum goal. And if the goal chances, surprisingly, the very same players, with a good tactician can achieve even more.
"Chiefs players are of good quality and the team can challenge. However, a good tactician is needed Sundowns isn't going to let it go without putting a fight," says jsizwe13.
"Brian Baloyi is a traitor, I lost respect for him, so he must stop talking about our team!!" says user827808.
"I don't agree with him. Chiefs had a problem with the coach last season and the season before. I remember when late Ted Dumitru took over Chiefs and he had an average team below this one. He turned that into a winning ensemble," says matemane.
"But Chiefs had a very good team when they lost the league on the last day to Sundowns, Arthur didn't do too badly considering that 2022/2023 was his first Season.
"The issue here is the quality of the players, just look at the squad composition of Sundowns, Pirates, AmaZulu and Royal AM compared to Chiefs, hayi Baba," says responds mthunzijack7 to the comment above.
"They get free agents that nobody wants and they expect quality, when other teams buy players they see that as wasting money," says Dominate-downs.
"But there's no more quality players in SA, if you honestly mean quality. The make-shift players that 'some' club buys at a hefty price are just not quality, as per what Brian is referring to," says Danito 4 Life.
"Spider-Man you are spot on," says Evangelist_NS.

Through his foundation, CAF President Patrice Motsepe has saved SAFA and Danny Jordaan's blushes by donating millions to settle a tense financial dispute with the World Cup-bound Banyana.
Motsepe Foundation co-founder Precious Moloi-Motsepe announced that they would be donating R6 million, with each Banyana player received R230 000.
This financial gesture brings an end to a stand-off between SAFA and Desiree Ellis' troops over the FIFA-allocated bonus structure.
FIFA's guidelines made it clear that each player participating at the Women's World Cup group stages is guaranteed $30 000 (Over R560 000).
The Motsepe Foundation donation will now ensure that Banyana will receive that due amount ahead of the global showpiece in Australia and New-Zealand this month.
Here's how the readers reacted to the "JUST IN | Motsepe Foundation steps in to settle tense Banyana pay" story:
"What? so SAFA does not have the funds? I thought the grant was from FIFA to the players for participation," says Fela.
"A word of thank you to the Motsepe Foundation, as for that Danny, prison should be his home for the next 20 years!!" says user927808.
"So why did the rich people not settle this bill? What exactly do they do because Gift of the Givers is fixing the infrastructure and disaster needs. They sit there and do nothing," says khothakhosi.
"Jordaan must fall," says mpahlani.
"He [Jordaan] must be dragged out of that office by his chair, he has done a lot of damage to SA football," says GrootmankaBrian who added:
"SIU must investigate this SAFA, what happened to the 2010 FIFA world cup funds?"
