Terrence Dzvukamanja revealed how he alarmingly received death threats from disgruntled fans during his initial struggles at Orlando Pirates.

The Zimbabwean striker failed to hit the ground running at the Buccaneers after arriving from the now defunct Bidvest Wits in 2020.

During the second half of the 2022/23, Dzvukamanja has enjoyed being the focal point of Pirates' attack and was instrumental in Pirates' Nedbank Cup run.

The 29-year-old received attacks through his inbox, phone calls with a fan even going as far as threatening at a mall.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Emotional Dzvukamanja describes receiving death threats" story:

"I think the fans have been unfair to Dzvukamanja. His main challenge has been injuries and fitness. In one of the clips he mentioned playing with a headache and pain killers.

"You now understand why Gabuza behaved the way he did, though unjustified. I think Pirates needs to communicate more on player injures and not to rush them back into the game," says Fela.

"Let's hope you don't lose form again, because those good-for-nothing threats are probably still alive," says siyaz.

"It's good that you have proved them wrong. Thanks to the coach that saw your quality and persisted in playing you. Fans don't know nothing about football.

"We should focus on supporting. When players struggle, it's when they need us most, not this criminality," says Onside.

"They needed you to man up, to double your efforts. As a foreigner you have to bring out something different from the locals to deserve a calling.

"Yes it was heartbreaking then but now you know how to deal with big team pressure. Tell other foreigners how it is to come to a big club and flop," says kinglovistochaka780.

"Being a foreigner has got nothing to do with anything. You give locals a tough time too," says Onside in response to the comment above.

"Football is not for the faint hearted boy, toughen up. Pitso was attacked, look where is he now. Same with Steve [Komphela] Gordon [Igesund] was shambooked, we need soldiers for the African safari not crybabies," says Zam d king Buccaneers.

Ex-Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Njabulo Blom admits it was frustrating not to feature in the AFCON qualifier against Morocco but believes that the long trip home may have done him some good.

Blom was recalled to the national team after missing out on the Liberia fixtures and made a more than 20-hour trip back to South Africa from the St Louis for the clash against the Atlas Lions.

Despite Bafana's positive 2-1 win over Morocco, Blom watched from the sidelines as an unused substitute for the game, but was able to draw some positivity from the trip back home as he got to visit his family.

Here's what the readers had to say on the "Blom remaining positive despite Bafana frustrations" story:

"Blom, coming to SA to participate or attend a Bafana game doesn't guarantee you that you will play. Please don't do a Pienaar on us. You will play if and when you deserve to play," says Skyline.

"Any player who is called up would be happy to get some minutes, he's not saying he deserved to get the nod ahead of any other player. Don't be a drama queen here," responds ayanda.mbalu2015.

"A certain club nearly killed his career," says ngwanamoshate.70.
