Maritzburg United chairperson Farook Kadodia released a shock statement, criticising Fadlu David's defensive tactics and lashing out at players who he claimed the club feel "betrayed" by.

The Team of Choice were unable to retain their status in the DStv Premiership after being outdone by Shaun Bartlett's Cape Town Spurs in the relegation/promotion playoffs.

Kadodia also claimed that relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship will cost the club R50 million.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Maritzburg Kadodia left 'betrayed' by questionable players after R50 million relegation" story:

"Why does this madala look like Brandon Petersen of Chiefs," says Arthur is an Ankole.

"The old man is correct. We were there. Players didn't show that there were really committed. Only Bradley Cross had an urgency to him, we had to call Meza to remind coach to make a substitute," says sitholba.

"It serves you right. Go well and I wish all the first division teams which find themselves in the playoffs, get promoted. Because teams get their chance in the top flight for the whole season, get a second chance in the playoffs, prevents willing teams from the second tier to taste the PSL monies. Go start from scratch, you will, maybe, come back one day," says generalmj.

"Hayi this old man is not ok, consistently selling all his best players every season, not replacing them and expecting every coach to start from scratch. By now this Maritzburg would have been one of the best teams, had he invested wisely, because Maritzburg can play. Kadodia must sell again, there is no better time than this," says mthunzijack7.

"Football is not Farook's thing. And his statement is out of place, especially about players whose defence is questionable," says Madiya-Ngalonde.

"Really now? Who hired the coach Kadodia? Who bought those players? You deserve relegation, R50 million is nothing, sell Kimvuidi to Chloorkop (25 million) and Human (R25 million) they will just buy them!!" says user827808.

"I understand the disappointment, but accusing players and the coach is just not right. You accusing them and in the same breath you are asking for unity," says Amen.

"My point exactly, you are trying to say lets us unite but you are accusing them again. Also even the statement about certain players sounds like allegations after he has heard rumors somewhere about them, no facts there," says onoxfetamang in response the comment above.

Newly announced Al Wahda FC head coach Pitso Mosimane has weighed in on the possibility of Percy Tau moving back to Europe.

Mosimane didn't rule a blockbuster move out for his former player at Sundowns and Al Ahly, but doesn't want the 29-year-old to move and lose out on game time in a pivotal part of his career

Tau has been in red-hot form of late, helping Al Ahly win their 11th CAF Champions League this season and proved to be instrumental in Bafana Bafana's 2-1 win over Morocco on Saturday.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "Pitso warns Tau on move: 'Don't get to Europe and you don't play' story:

"Sound advise from Mosimane, the ONLY coach who knows," says Danito 4 Life.

"It's time Pitso ends his bromance with Tau," says Madiya-Ngalonde.
