The story
The opening of CAF's flagship tournament is within touching distance, as a titanic clash between Simba SC and Al Ahly will set the stage on Friday, 20 October.
The event is eagerly anticipated, as it is now the continent's most lucrative competition with prize money of $4 million (R76 million) for the winners, while each of the eight participating sides is gauranteed $1 million (R19.1 million).

As such, clubs have since shown great intent, with several teams launching special edition kits for the occasion.
Sundowns (South Africa):
The Brazilians will wear a dark blue kit in PUMA Navy, which is said to be inspired by the colour of the African sky at the dawning of a new day. It also features "a Pele Yellow ribbed crewneck and yellow ribbed cuff. The CAF Champions League Star appears above the club badge and the letters MSFC appear on the back of the neckline alongside a map of Africa," the club confirmed in a statement.
