With reports suggesting that Kaizer Chiefs are set to play Botswana giants Township Rollers in a friendly match this month, Amakhosi could now be set to meet an old enemy in the former of Thabo Rakhale. Here's a look!
The story
Rakhale is all too familiar with facing the Glamour Boys, as Transfermarkt indicates that he has played against the Soweto giants 17 times in his career, which is the most he's played against any existing Betway Premiership team.
Moreover, the now 34-year-old has been victorious in four of those matches, whilst registering two goals and one assist in those fixtures against Chiefs.

Rakhale joined Township Rollers in July 2023 after spending over a year without a club but last season, he narrowly missed out on the Botswana Premier League title in his debut campaign, as his team finished in second place trailing winners Jwaneng Galaxy by just one point.
Now with reports suggesting that Chiefs have lined up a friendly match against Rollers, Rakhale is among those expected to feature.
Notably, the last time the two teams met in a friendly in July 2023, the dribbling wizard scored the winner in a 1-0 victory over Amakhosi at the National Stadium in Gaborone.
Since Rakhale's switch to Botswana, he has slowly moved away from the lime light, or at least in the case of South African football observers.
Here's a glimpse into how life has been treating Rakhale since joining Township Rollers:
