Pirates star shows the R330k reward of a school of excellence product

An Orlando Pirates star and product of the School of Excellence seems to be shrouding himself in greatness with his R330 000 reward.

Relebohile Mofokeng is just 19 years of age and is already making his mark on South African football, being a starlet on the rise and gradually becoming a key figure in the set up of the Soweto giants with some even posing the Bafana Bafana question.

His dream first started to become a reality during his time at the SAFA-Transnet School of Excellence. It was in this period that he was discovered by the Buccaneers, who eagerly snapped up his services ahead of the 2022/23 season. Since then, it has been nothing but an upward trajectory that represents a career with the potential to ignite not only Buccaneers, but the country as a whole.

Mofokeng was handed his first start for the club in a DStv Premiership game against Royal AM in May last year, which came just a mere months following his first appearance in the Club's DStv Diski Challenge side.

During the current campaign, the 19-year-old has played 13 DStv Premiership games and chipped in with two assists. His most recent appearance came in his side's 4-2 win over AmaZulu in the Nedbank Cup to book their place in the semi-finals of the competition.

While he looks to be a player that is on the rise to stardom, his material rewards have perhaps already arrived. It represents, perhaps, just a taste of everything he could achieve in the future. Many would suggest that for a young footballer to reach the pinnacle of their game would require much hard hard work to keep their tools sharp on a consistent basis.

After all, success is not merely measured by talent on the field but by a unique blend of attributes that extend beyond just physical prowess. A combination of skill, tactical intelligence, mentality, fitness, discipline, and passion is required to take a player to the next level, and many would hope that the teenager possesses all these abilities.

While it may take a while for him to truly come into possession of the aforementioned skillset, what he currently possesses is perhaps equally impressive. Mofokeng recently took to social media to strut his 2019 Volkswagen Polo Hatch 1.0 Turbo Stratified Injection (TSI).

The polo is a popular car in South Africa, which seemingly makes it a good fit for the youngster as he is rapidly growing in popularity as the spotlight continues to shine on him as a prospective player and star. It is also regarded by many to be a stylish set of wheels which also mirrors the attacker's good sense when it comes to fashion! For all that it symbolises, the car comes at a considerable price as, according to Auto Trader, it can cost around R340 000 for someone to get their hands on the Polo.
