AmaZulu have followed in the footsteps of Orlando Pirates in appointing a Spanish tactician as head coach. Usuthu announced former Real Madrid assistant Pablo Franco Martin as their new head coach.

The 43-year-old was previously in charge of Tanzanian giants Simba and served as an assistant to Julen Lopetegui during his time at Los Blancos.

Martin has signed a three-year deal and will assume his role at the Durban-based outfit from 1 July, becoming the second Spanish head coach in the DStv Prem after Orlando Pirates' Jose Riveiro.

Here's how the readers reacted to the "AmaZulu announce former Real Madrid assistant as new coach" story:

"Where are the new players after offloading 11 of them? Zungu said the new coach appointment was going to be exciting. I don't see this appointment as exciting. These firing and hiring of technical staff is just a show. It doesn't make any sense football wise," says Madiya-Ngalonde.

"This Zungu guy thinks he can buy success," says Eduardo Dos Santos.

"You can't blame him, his role model is Patrice Motsepe," says Danito 4 Life.

"Can Zungu please shut up now n take the back seat, lo baba just loves camera, lights and action," says Zam d king Buccaneer.

"I hope Mr Zungu will give this gentleman ample time to build the team the way he wants. But then we'll see as the season progresses," says sizweking.

"The promising start or a success of Jose Riveiro at Pirates has revived hope about European coaches. PSL bosses have a reference person in Riveiro as a reason why a foreign coach might be the real deal," says maxncane.

"Hey, kuzofiwa, with the continued influx of international coaches into our DSTV Premiership, this can only mean improvement," says mthunzijack7.
