SA star playing abroad grabs big award

A Mzansi star plying his trade elsewhere in the world has picked up an award in recognition of his great performances, and looked fly while collecting it.

IK Sirius Fotboll winger Tashreeq Matthews has been tearing it up in the Swedish league, helping his side to an 8th place finish in the league with his handy contribution of 10 goals and 10 assists in 30 appearances, as per Transfermarkt

The young South African featured in every single one of the side's league games, showcasing what an important member of the team he has become since joining the Swedish team in August last year.

IK Sirius hosted an award gala where Matthew was recognised for his great output when he was bestowed with the "Score King of the Year" award.

The 23-year-old was also a nominee for the club's Player of the Year award, but was edged by teammate Wessam Abou Ali, a forward who scored 10 goals in 16 games.

The man who was born in Cape Town also made Mzansi proud by his outfit selection, opting for a sleek all-black look that mirrored his excellence and elegance on the field.

He settled on wearing a turtleneck under his blazer, a formal pants, which had been tailored to his size in an exquisite manner, and topped the look off with a classy watch, a silver chain, but mixed things up a bit by going with a pair of sneakers. Just as tricky as he is on the pitch, he pulled something magical out of the bag because the outfit came together so well.

Matthews was definitely dressed for the occasion, and was stage-ready when it came to his name being announced.
