Mamelodi Sundowns' FIFA Club World participation will receive a big challenge, with at least ten players running out of contracts at the end of the season.
The Brazilians will be representing Africa, alongside Al Ahly, Wydad Casablanca and Esperance in the expanded 32-team FIFA Club World Cup tournament from mid June until mid July 2025.

However, Masandawana will face a big challenge negotiating with at least ten players having their contracts running out in June 30 next year.
Players such as Themba Zwane, who is expected to return from injury action only in March and April in a worst case scenario, was offered only a one-year extension last campaign and the Tshwane giants will have to decide whether they will jet off with 'Mshishi' to the United States of America or whether he will remain behind as a free agent.
Another key player is Mothobi Mvala who will need to ink a new deal before the Club World Cup, which will lapse on June 30.
Aubrey Modiba would also need to negotiate new terms ahead of the Club World Cup, as his current contract will expire as well.
Khuliso Mudau is another player who has arguably attracted interest the most from overseas clubs and he would need to make a decision at the end of the campaign, whether he leaves for greener pastures or puts pen to paper on a new deal that would guarantee him a spot on a flight to USA.

There are reports that several PSL clubs are monitoring Sphelele Mkhulise, whose current contract also expires at the end of June 2025.
Ever-present Marcelo Allende would also need to agree to new terms as his deal would be up for renewal at the end of June next year.
Rivaldo Coetzee is another player who will be on the balance, with other clubs potentially monitoring his situation of the current contract which will also lapse before the Club World Cup.
Mosa Lebusa and Rushine De Reuck are other Sundowns players who would also require contractual guarantees prior to the start of the global tournament.
In other instances of the above players, the Brazilians could have an option to renew that they can trigger but it is understood that not all players would enjoy such luxury, with potential shock decisions in the works before the Tshwane giants compete in a tournament that guarantees around R900 million for featuring in the competition.
