Mamelodi Sundowns have set up an African Football League semi-final against Al Ahly after overcoming Petro de Luanda 2-0 on aggregate in the last eight.
Sundowns made just two changes after the first-leg win on Saturday, as Gaston Sirino started for the first time this season while Thapelo Maseko also started after scoring in Angola.
It was a disappointing opening for the Brazilians though, after Mothobi Mvala was shown a straight red card three minutes in after he had committed a professional foul.
Sirino was keen to make his presence felt having come on at halftime in the first-leg on Saturday, but former Cape Town City goalkeeper Hugo Marques was well on guard.
Marques was afforded more duty between the sticks as the half-hour mark approached when he rushed off his line to smother Marcelo Allende's probing free-kick.
Petro attempted to come in their own buoyed by the man advantage, but the South African giants held their lines nicely and monitored their every threat.
Masandawana looked to find an opening after the interval but struggled to breakdown the visitors who were eagerly keen to get pull a comeback.
At the other end, goalkeeper Ronwen Williams delivered a long pass to allocate the run of Thapelo Maseko but the ball swerved off the surface and beat the winger.
Sundowns were on the up again minutes gone as a counter-attack led by Zwane brought Sirino in on strike, but the latter snapped over target.
The Brazilians put on a double change to apply more pressure with Mosa Lebusa and Bongani Zungu on for Allende and Maseko respectively.
However, the host were unable to extend their overall advantage but had done to grab an aggregate win to enter the semi-finals where they will face Al Ahly SC.
