Mamelodi Sundowns have announced that goalkeeper Ronwen Williams has extended his contract with The Brazilians.
In a short video clip uploaded on the club's social media platforms, the DStv Premiership champions confirmed that Williams had penned a new deal that keeps him at Chloorkop until 2028.
Williams had joined Sundowns on a five-year contract in 2022, set to expire in 2027. The new deal is understood to be a one-year extension, taking the length to 2028 with improved terms.

Soccer Laduma reported towards the end of April that Williams and the club were set to agree on a new deal, an improved deal. Williams' fresh contract will kick into effect from 1 July 2024 and will expire at the end of the 2027/28 season.

It comes on the back of an impressive campaign for the Bafana Bafana captain, who has proven his class for both club and country and raised his value to staggering amounts.

Williams won the Golden Glove at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations before returning to collect the award for most clean sheet in a record-setting season for Sundowns.
Among his other accolades, Williams has won the PSL Young Player of the Year in 2011/12 and 2012/13, and PSL Goalkeeper of the Season in both the 2018/2019 and 2019/20 campaigns.
