Mamelodi Sundowns finished their pre-season tour in Austria positively after overcoming Al Hilal 2-1 on Friday evening.
Not much changed in the line-up for Sundowns except for goalkeeper Sanele Tshabalala given his maiden start in pre-season as well as new Brazilian signing Arthur Sales.
Former Lazio midfield ace Sergej Milinkovic-Savic earned a solid opportunity to give the Saudi club the perfect start in the opening ten minutes, but curled way wide of the top corner.
Another clear chance came their way minutes thereafter and yet again failed to find target after Aleksandar Mitrovic nodded over from the centre of the area following a surging cross.
Hillal still piled up chances around the midway exchanges as Al-Dawsari Nasser made a short run-up to get space just inside the area to hit the top corner, but Tshabalala answered emphatically.
Interestingly, a string of changes were made by the Brazilians just before halftime which saw Aubrey Modiba, Peter Shalulile, Divine Lunga and Marcelo Allende notably enter the field.
Sundowns were on the edge a minute in the second half and conceded a penalty, but substitute goalkeeper Denis Onyango spared their blushes and denied Mitrovic taking aim.
At the other end, Sundowns made use of Hilal's misfortune and got in front when Lucas Ribeiro Costa cut in to the edge of the area to fire in the top corner.
The Saudi giants were given another chance from the spot ten minutes from halftime following a foul by Khuliso Mudau and Mitrovic made no mistake this time but beat Onyango.
Masandawana didn't lose confidence but went back in front when Modiba latched onto a loose ball from a shot by Shalulile and tucked in from close-range.
As the final whistle dawned, the South African champions run down the clock and collected the win to finish their pre-season campaign on a high.
