'No, this is embarrassing' - Downs backed for 12-point gap

Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Eric Ramasike believes a win against TS Galaxy FC will tighten their grip in the attempts to defend the league title.

A win for Sundowns at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday will open a 12-point gap between them and second-placed Orlando Pirates, who will have two games in hand.

"A 12-point gap will be the start of it because we have to finish what we started," notes Ramasike, a multiple league winner with the side in his heyday.

"I don't think Pirates or any other team will be able to bounce back and dethrone Sundowns if they win today against Galaxy.

"If we open a 12-point gap between us and Pirates, then which team will catch up with us? The real job starts now, to be honest.

"We now going for the kill, we're going to win the league now. We're now setting the pace. I'm so happy with the team that is playing now.

"Pirates started so well, they were on form, and even in Africa, they were winning. But all of a sudden, they are about to be 12 points behind Sundowns. It's unbelievable!," adds the man nicknamed 'Tambai'.

Furthermore, Ramasike says Bucs' loss to Sundowns last Saturday derailed the Soweto giants 'big time'.

"Because, to be honest, how many teams out of the 15 can beat Sundowns in this league? There is no competition.

"We beat Golden Arrows by four goals, we scored three goals against SuperSport United, and on the weekend, we gave Pirates four. No, this is embarrassing!

"The chances of Sundowns losing more than two games in the second round are too slim. Sundowns should be playing in a league of their own because here at home, they are dictating.

"I believe we will score more than two goals against TS Galaxy tonight."
