While all the focus has been on the coaching changes at Mamelodi Sundowns for half of this week, little has been mentioned of yet another interesting development in the career of Thembinkosi Lorch.
The attacking midfielder joined the club at the beginning of 2024, right on transfer deadline day, and the arrival of Miguel Cardoso at Chloorkop means he will finish the year having worked under four coaches.

For a brief spell during the domestic league pause due to the Africa Cup of Nations, prior to his high-profile move on January 26, the man fondly referred to as 'Nyoso' answered to the command of one Jose Riveiro, the Orlando Pirates head coach.
He had been a huge fan-favourite at the Soweto giants having amassed 176 appearances, from which he contributed 34 goals and 30 assists, and most notably, became the PSL Footballer of the Season and Players' Player of the Season in 2018/19.
In Rulani Mokwena, he found a coach at his new home who had been a long-time admirer of his on-field abilities, with the two having previously worked together during the 37-year-old's assistant coach and caretaker coach stints at Ezimnyama Ngenkani.
Lorch did decently for a first (albeit not full) season in such a highly demanding environment, having been troubled by injuries towards the end of his Buccaneers odyssey.
He made six appearances in the CAF Champions League (two in the group stage, four in the knockouts), four in the Nedbank Cup and 10 in the Betway Premiership.
Furthermore, the 31-year-old scored six goals for The Brazilians, whilst assisting thrice.
Then came the big blow.
With the shock news that Mokwena and Sundowns were going their separate ways following the failure to win the Champions League, the former Chippa United man had to get accustomed to a new voice in the change room and on the touchline– Manqoba Mngqithi.
The outspoken coach made it clear the dribbling wizard had to knuckle down and work hard to cement a place in the team.
That he has only featured in six of the side's 18 matches played so far in 204/25 is telling, injury niggles notwithstanding.
As if that was not enough of coaching changes for a year, in comes Miguel Cardoso as Mngqithi vacates the seat due to unsatisfactory results that included the embarrassment of losing to Premiership newbies Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout final.
Whether Lorch's fortunes turn north or south under Cardoso remains to be seen.
But from using 'Hola' (Spanish) as a greeting to his coach, then 'Sawubona', and now 'Olá' (Portuguese), perhaps it is a year he would like to see the back of.
