Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena has revealed the reasons behind the signing of defender Zuko Mdunyelwa from Chippa United.
Sundowns pulled out a major surprise before New Year when they announced the arrival of Mdunyelwa on a five-year contract.
The 24-year-old defender has joined the likes of Thapelo Maseko, Lucas Robeiro Costa, Junior Mendieta, Bathusi Aubaas, and Lesiba Nku among signings at Chloorkop this season.

Mdunyelwa is set to compete with Khuliso Mudau for the right-back position at Sundowns, according to coach Mokwena.
"The challenge is that in most of the other positions we have two players except for right back. We have only Mudau," Mokwena said.
"We have got Thapelo Morena but my feeling about Thapelo's position is completely different from what I think.
"I don't think Thapelo in a way plays when I envision the team is a right back. When I look at the team, he doesn't fit into right back in my mind.
"So it's been very difficult also to rest Mudau and to play without Mudau when is injured, so Zuko we followed a little bit. A lot of credit has to go to the scouting department our Sporting Director (Flemming Berg ) and his assistant, the data department, also our technical team, and the coaches for the work they have done in analyzing and the club for securing a latent which I think he is promising.
