Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena says the players' mentality got them over the line against AmaZulu on Wednesday night.
Sundowns extended their record of a perfect start to ten matches thanks to a first-half penalty by Lucas Ribeiro Costa.
Mokwena says they edged the game because of their mentality after AmaZulu also gave them trouble and had a goal disallowed.

"Congratulations to the entire Mamelodi Sundowns family, congratulations to the supporters, amazing turnout for a midweek game," Mokwena told SuperSport TV.
"Congratulations to this group of players because they work very hard and we just got over the line because of our mentality. Congratulations to the technical team and everybody involved."
The Brazilians showed their experience in slowing down the tempo of the game in the closing stages and Mokwena continued and said due to the high number of games they play, they had to suffer in some moments.
"I thought we were in control you know, we struggled a little bit in certain moments but it's normal with the number of games," he continued.
"And then you've got stay in games because you've got to win games with your mentality and we have a very good mentality, a good group of players that keep going.
"We know AmaZulu don't die, it's a team that gives a lot and invests so much on the pitch, so we had to also respond and suffer in certain moments.
"We were good in some moments, some of the passes, some of the build-ups and it's also not easy because the opposition is also well coached but congratulations to this fantastic group of players, fantastic mentality," he said.
"More than anything the mentality, to grind things out sometimes it's really the sign what really makes champions and fantastic today," he added.
