NEXT: Shalulile on to Downs big hit

Peter Shalulile's goals have pushed him up the ranks to within a stone's throw of becoming only the second ever player to reach 100 goals at Mamelodi Sundowns.

Shalulile delivered a brace from the bench on Sunday in the 4-0 massacre of Golden Arrows which keeps them top of the standings in the Betway Premiership.

The Namibian striker now has 98 goals playing for Sundowns.

Those goals have come from 184 appearances wearing the colours of The Brazilians who he joined in September 2020 from Highlands Park.

This gives Shalulile an average of a goal in 1,9 matches which is a goal with just about every second game.

With his count, Shalulile now needs two to reach the magical 100 goals for Sundowns.

Upon reaching 100 goals he will only become the second player at the club t ever touch triple figures after Daniel Mudau.

Mudau scored 172 goals through his career largely spent at Sundowns where he ultimately retired at the end of the 2004/05 season after playing just thrice through that campaign.

Of those goals, 110 were scored in the PSL era years stretching from August 1996.

The last of those goals came in May 2004 against Jomo Cosmos.

Though the 31-year-old has been the subject of a possible move away from the club he has remained the main source of goals.

Shalulile is into his fifth season at Sundowns and has another 27 goals for Highlands Park from when they were playing in the top league.
