'They will be fighting for their lives'

Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Lesiba Nku has warned against underestimating upcoming opponents Cape Town Spurs as the two teams prepare to lock horns.

The Brazilians will be aiming to continue their perfect start to the season having collected 30 points from 10 matches. Standing in the path of their next three points is a team having an opposite start to the season.

Spurs languish at the bottom of the DStv Premiership table with just one win from 13 outings.

Sundowns' Nku though, says log position will count for little when the two teams meet at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday evening.

"I think the game against Spurs will not be an easy game," Nku said via the club's media department.

"They are fighting for their lives and we also want to win the league, we are trying everything to win every match that we play. So, it won't be easy game. We are going to fight.

"We take every game as it comes, each game that we play, we want to win, we don't check the log table where we are or where they are.

"The CAF Champions League is something else, but now we are going to play in the league. The preparation has been good but we know that we play each and every after two days or three days."

A win would stretch Sundowns' lead at the top of the table to eight points ahead of second-placed Cape Town City, who have played four more matches.

Meanwhile, a win for Spurs will not move them from the foot of the DStv Premiership table but could serve as a catalyst to propel the Urban Warriors out of the relegation zone.

Kick-off is at 19:30.
