Mamelodi Sundowns are still pursuing options of permanently solving the contractual situation of Erwin Saavedra.
The Bolivian remains contracted to Sundowns beyond the end of June and a permanent solution is what The Brazilians are now seeking.

Saavedra has only played thrice since his return at the beginning of the season from loan at his former Club Bolivar in Bolivia.
He came on from the bench for a half-hour run (33 minutes) against Polokwane City in the league.
The other two appearances have both been starts in the CAF Champions League against Mbabane Swallows and AS Maniema Union.
Prior to heading back to Club Bolivar, the 28-year-old had a difficult stay at Sundowns, managing only 10 appearances (totalling 265 minutes) in two years.
So, in all his time at Chloorkop, Saavedra has played about 450 minutes and not anywhere close to matching the return on investment that the Tshwane giants were aiming for.
It is for this reason that the club is now aiming at finding a way to sell the Bolivian, which will be a permanent solution.
Several discussions have been made around Saavedra, whose contract termination will come at a cost for the club considering that he still has a lengthy period remaining on his contract.
The option of returning home is still there with the Bolivian transfer window only closing at the end of March.
However, the issue is that the Bolivian clubs interested will not be keen to pay a transfer fee anywhere close to what Sundowns still consider reasonable.

Bolivar are said to be still keen as they are due to play in the 2025 Copa Libertadores, but the issue is around paying a transfer fee.
Saavedra took one of five foreign spots at the club during the first half of the season along with Marcelo Allende (Chile) and the Brazilian pair of Arthur de Oliviera Sales and Lucas Ribeiro Costa (Brazil).
