In a KickOff exclusive, Bafana Bafana midfielder Themba Zwane opened up about his ambitions and future with the national team.
After missing out on friendlies against Namibia and DR Congo in September, the 34-year-old attacking midfielder has been recalled to national team duty for Friday's encounter against Eswatini and Tuesday's match against Ivory Coast.
Both matches serve as part of Bafana's preparations for next year's Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) set to be played in January 2024, as well as the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers that kick-off in November.

Speaking to KickOff, Zwane insisted that even at the twilight age of his decorated career, he still harbors ambitions of silverware with the 96' Afcon Champions.
"The hunger [to play for Bafana] will always be there I said, As long as I have the opportunity to represent the national team, I will always go and do my best. The hunger will always be there.
"I just want to win things with the national team, It's always been my dream to win things with the national team."

Zwane, now seemingly an indispensable member of the squad, was made to wait for his chance, with head coach Hugo Broos initially preferring younger players.
"To be honest, as a player, I did understand what the coach was saying because I used to listen to a lot of his interviews, saying that he was giving the first priori to the younger players," the playmaker concedes.
"You could tell even with the players he was selecting, you could see he was trying to build a younger team. So I understood.
"I just told myself that either way, I just have to do my job [at Sundowns], that's what I have to do. If it happens that I'm called up [to Bafana], I will honour that call-up. If I'm not called up. I will just support the gents and try to push them. So that's it."
Bafana take on Eswatini on Friday at FNB Stadium. Kick-off is at 18:00.
