Former Orlando Pirates head performance analyst Darian Wilken has confirmed his appointment as the new first team assistant coach of Maritzburg United.
Wilken took to social media to confirm his arrival, writing: "I'm happy to share that I have started a new position as First-Team Assistant Coach at Maritzburg United," on Twitter.
The coach becomes the late of a string of recruitments made by new club head coach Fadlu Davids, that also include former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Wayne Sandilands.

Wilken's arrival has been on the cards since Davids was confirmed as United head coach in November. The pair have worked together during Davids' first stint at the club and reunited at Orlando Pirates.
The Team of Choice is bracing for a mountain to climb after finding themselves at the bottom of the DStv Premiership table with just two wins after 13 matches.

The poor run of form ultimately led the sacking of former then head coach John Maduka, his technical staff, as well termination of several contracts.
Given Mashikinya, Lelethu Skelem, Tshidiso Monamoda and Lucky Baloyi are among those who have been told they are not part Davids' revival plan.
With a league-high 19 goals conceded, United have also strengthened the defence with the recruitment of Stellenbosch defender Rafiq De Goede, who brings a wealth of experience to the back line of the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
He's been joined by 33-year-old former AmaZulu centre-back Kgotso Moleko. United have also secured the signature of the versatile Wayde Jooste, who is had also been a free agent following his release from Orlando Pirates.
