Former head coach Mlungisi Ngubane insists Maritzburg United can cause a major upset with a win over champions-elect Mamelodi Sundowns to survive relegation and remain in the DStv Premiership.
Maritzburg are tied with Chippa United and TS Galaxy who are all three points adrift of Richards Bay ahead of a tense final day of the 2022/23 season.
"Sundowns still have quality, they still have the likes of Sipho Mbule, it's going to be difficult for Maritzburg, but they can do it against Sundows.

"So, I don't think Sundowns will save their best players for the CAF Champions League match.
"Sundowns are too professional; it all shows with their approach they are always serious.
"They don't think about the other game, they always focus on today.
"I'm not saying all is lost for Maritzburg United, but they are going to have to dig deep for that to happen.
"Maritzburg they have to go and fight for their lives.
"Stellenbosch managed to beat Sundowns, Maritzburg can also do the same as long as they put their minds to it.

"Although Mamelodi Sundowns will want to finish in style.
"Maritzburg has a very tough job against Sundowns, but I believe they can do it."
