Maritzburg United star Travis Graham has issued an apology to club supporters after the Team of Choice suffered a 5-0 defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns.
Mamelodi Sundowns delivered a 5-0 trashing of the KwaZulu-Natal outfit when the two sides locked horns at the Harry Gwala stadium on Tuesday evening.
"I would like to apologise to the blue army supporters for last nights performance. It is unacceptable and we very disappointed about what happened. We have to do better on Friday," Graham wrote on Twitter.
John Maduka's side has endured a tough first half to the season with just two wins from 12 matches and find themselves just one point ahead of bottom-of-the table Sekhukhune United.
Sundowns meanwhile were desperate for a win after having suffered an embarrassing 3-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates just days prior to the Maritzburg clash.
A defeat that prompted the Brazilians' hierarchy to implement structural changes to it's technical team. These include the promotion of Rulani Mokwena to sole head coach, while Manqoba Mngqithi moves to senior coach and Steve Komphela becomes first team coach.
Graham and Co will have a chance to get back to winning ways when the Blue Army takes on Lamontville Golden Arrows on Friday at the Princess Magogo Stadium.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are currently the only side in the DStv Premiership boasting a winning streak of five wins on the trot. The Brazilians can extend that record when they play away to Royal AM on Saturday at the Chatsworth Stadium.
