Marumo Gallants FC coach Dan Malesela says Orlando Pirates' goal before the halftime may have been demoralizing to the team.
Pirates struck in either half through Monnapule Saleng before a penalty in the second period by former Gallants man Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo made matters safe.
Malesela notable touched on the way his side conceded the two goals particularly the first one which pretty much came out of nothing let alone from nowhere.
"We knew it was going to be difficult, but we were prepared to fight and which we did. Unfortunately, once you start conceding and you concede goals where it doesn't look like there'll be a goal it sort of demoralizes a bit so and the basics of marking could've been practiced," Malesela told SuperSport TV.
"You know, stay goal-side wait don't commit because sometimes our minds run...You know players minds their minds run faster than the actual job so you've already won the ball that you haven't got.
"So, that I don't know what happened to the second goal. I'm not sure how the penalty came about. I have to look and see but look Pirates played well as well. You can't deny that and we tried with our own."
A few errors in regards to the decision making from his team out on the field could've also been dealt with better and the challenge the team playing bad and losing matches.
"I think somewhere with the decision making we could've done things better particularly when we were in the box.
"Sometimes just to pass somebody there or sometimes take a shot and then we want to pass. So those things are just organization of matches.
"The challenge with me is that, You see if the team is not playing bad and you lose matches that's the challenge because it's a challenge for a coach at that time to say what then do you do now, you know.
"But like I said, we have to see and work on," Malesela said.
