Head coach Raymond Mdaka admitted his side were left stunned by their automatic relegation from the DStv Premiership after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Swallows on the final day of the season on Saturday at Dobsonville Stadium.
Lindokuhle Mtshali scored a brace to relegate Gallants to the Motsepe Foundation Championship while securing a top eight finish for The Birds.

"We are very disappointed as we never expected this," Mdaka said post-match.
"We never thought we'd lose this game, but it happens in football, and there's nothing that we can do now.
"The feelings are that it's so bad for us as we didn't expect this at all.
"We thought it would be like some of our other games where we usually don't concede, and we're very disappointed about that.
"Sometimes, when your players don't score, it's a problem. I think that's where it [our problems] started.
"We can mention a lot of things, but if we don't score, then obviously the other team can punish you."
