Gallants aiming to move clear of relegation fight as striker search continues

Marumo Gallants head coach Dan 'Dance' Malesela insists his team are determined to move clear of the relegation zone as their search for a striker continues.

Gallants are rock-bottom of the DStv Premiership standings at the midway point of the season after 15 matches played.

"We are searching for reinforcements, we are very thin at the back with most of our defenders injured," Malesela tells KickOff.

"Also, we need a striker who can score goals, but where do you find them?

"It's difficult to find strikers. They died with school football. When school football died, that's when strikers disappeared."

Though he admits six wins in their remaining 15 games will help Gallants win their battle against relegation, Malesela insists his team are aiming to win every game.

"Our plan is to win each and every game because if you try to approach games from that angle. You must always remain hopeful you will win.

"Well, the aim is to get out of the relegation zone you know, deal with the relegation situation, and then see how many points we can get.

"After all that then we can start saying anything else."

Asked if he was getting sleepless nights about his job, Malesela said.

"You just don't panic because what gives you hope is that the team is playing well.

"We dominate our opponents, but we concede at the end, of the day.

"If we were playing bad, I would be worried [about his job]. We are playing very well but we are not winning."
