Gallants' Malesela aiming for shock upset against Sundowns

Marumo Gallants head coach Dan Malesela insists his side will be aiming for a shock win as opponents Mamelodi Sundowns aim to return to the top of the DStv Premiership standings.

Gallants face the daunting trip to Loftus Versfeld Stadium for Wednesday's clash against the Brazilians who turn their attention to domestic action following their CAF Champions League exploits.

"Realistically it's a tough match," Malesela tells KickOff.

"All matches are tough, but there's always something different about Sundowns that you have to deal with.

"We are prepared for anything, and we want to dish out whatever we can as well.

"So, we are prepared for the match."

Malesela downplayed the influence of Sundowns' previous 15-1 mauling of minnows La Passe in the CAF Champions League.

"You don't read anything into these situations or get carried away in thinking it's an advantage," Malesela added.

"We have to give ourselves an advantage and not worry too much about Sundowns.

"It's their business, and they know how to deal with that.

"We need to worry more about how we need to handle ourselves.

"You know, once you start trying to coach other clubs while you have another club to coach, you may find it difficult to coach two clubs.

"So, we are focusing on our own job, everything else we will handle as the game progresses and try to adjust to it.

"Bit by bit we are getting our rhythm, and hopefully what we see at training will come up in the matches."
