Marumo Gallants FC assistant coach Raymond Mdaka was pleased to have picked up a point against Kaizer Chiefs as the side moved off the foot of the table.
The Amakhosi were on course to victory after Ashley Du Preez broke the deadlock around five minutes, but Gallants rallied back through Ranga Chivaviro and evidently snatched a point.
As the result boost Bahlabane Ba Ntwa's chances to beat relegation, the Amakhosi missed out on the chance to edge closer to their top-two aspirations.

"We really wanted it, but what I observed – we couldn't keep the ball like we normally do in the middle of the park. They played more on the counter-attacks in the first few minutes of the first half on our right-backs and right-hand side," Mdaka told SuperSport TV.
"Du Preez was able to cheat. They kept the corners on the first goal but we wanted to keep it and play. I'm not sure if its because of the pitch which was a bit slippery, you look at it we're losing a lot of balls. But a point is better than not getting anything for us.
The plan to stop the spaces that the Amakhosi like to penetrate worked to some extent as the mentor notes that their aim right now is to solidify their defensive shape.
"You know, what we fought for and tried to work on in this kind of a situation is to make sure that you don't concede easily. You look at the defence that is there.
"We still having Toure who got the fourth booking and is not here. We still have Lehlohonolo (Nonyane), so we try to solidify the back so that we take chances going forward.
"At most, if you don't concede chances - you can win the game so we make sure that we become very solid at the back – try to play through the middle.
"The first half, you look at it we allowed them to play the long balls that we caught all here because the top two strikers there Ranga and Letsie have been casual in terms of closing them down. But other than that I think that it was a good game for our players."
