Ajax Cape Town comment on Benni McCarthy talks, Andries Ulderink replacement with Calvin Marlin

Club official Thabiso 'Shoes' Mekuto remained diplomatic and refused to divulge any more information after McCarthy revealed talks with the GladAfrica Championship side on Tuesday.

"That is not for us to comment," Mekuto tells snl24.com/kickoff. "It was never rumours for us so whoever spoke about it must continue speaking about it."

Despite their refusal to open up about the former Cape Town City coach, the NFD log leaders have decided not to replace their head coach Andries Ulderink following his resignation.

It has since emerged that the Dutchman quit due to the club's unwillingness to lift the suspension of their head of youth Hans Vonk, who is suspended pending an investigation into "serious charges of misconduct".

As reported by this website, technical team members Calvin Marlin and Dylan Deane will remain in charge of the side until the end of the season.

"There's no latest [in our coach search], we are staying as we are," Mekuto confirms.

"We are keeping our technical staff as they are. It's the same technical staff that brought us to where we are, minus the head coach. So no changes.

"We are not trying to change anything or try to bring someone who's going to take over. So we stick with this team."
