Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has exclusively revealed to KickOff the reason behind the divorce between the Limpopo outfit and Morgan Mammila after the latter stepped down from his role as head coach.
Mammila's assistant, Amukelani Hlungwani, has been tasked with bringing back the club's playing style and culture.

On Friday, the club released a statement, where they revealed that Mammila had resigned from his head coach position after a poor start to the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.
"He resigned, and no, I was not surprised because I could see that he is lost," a candid Mphahlele tells KickOff.
"I don't want to say much about it, but the football we were playing was too different. It was different football. I even told him: 'I don't know this team playing here, I can't recognize it. This is not the Baroka team I know. This is something else'.
"It's the same players, but the way they are playing... what they were playing is foreign to me.
"And he couldn't answer me. He just told me that we were struggling. That was on the match report. I told him to write a match report. But he kept talking about struggling, struggling, struggling... and I said to him: 'Everybody is struggling, even the bench is struggling'.
"I don't have a problem with his signings, we were working together on the signings. The only thing is we signed a lot of over-age players. That's my only concern. I'm okay with the quality they have, but they are just over the hill," says the straight-talking club boss.
Mphahlele says they have already started searching for Mammila's replacement, though he stressed that they are not in a hurry.

"As for the new coach, the time will tell, but I'm not in a hurry because first, the young man JJ Hlungwani must return the club to its playing culture. He's been there since last year.
"I like what I have seen in him so far. He seems to be a clever somebody. We had two friendlies on the weekend under him, and I could see that they are coming good."
