Calvin Marlin leading the race for full-time Ajax Cape Town head coach job

Ajax are currently without a head coach after Andries Ulderink resigned from the team last week following a rift with the club management.

Goalkeeper coach Marlin sat on the bench as Ajax played to a 1-1 draw with Free State Stars at Goble Park on Saturday and according to sources close to the club, he could remain in charge until the end of the season.

"Calvin Marlin sat on the bench on Saturday. Getting a point away from home was not bad, especially under the circumstances," the source tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"The management want to give him a chance because he has been part of the setup since the start of the season."

The Urban Warriors are sitting on top of the GladAfrica Championship log with 39 points after 20 games

They take on eighth-placed Real Kings in their next NFD match at home on February 17.
