Marlin, who took the team now known as Cape Town Spurs to last season's promotion playoffs after finishing second, has joined Cape Town All Stars as a goalkeeper coach.
He will be working with recently appointed head coach Dylan Deane after the club bought back its NFD status from TS Galaxy.
"Yeah at the moment I'm just helping out here at Cape Town All Stars, coach Dylan," Marlin tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"It's been three or four days and that's it really. It's a short-term thing. He was with me at Ajax, he's now running Cape Town All Stars. I'm just being a goalkeeper coach there, that's it."
Marlin says the club does not have that much of a squad at the moment as they are still on the lookout for players.
"Not much at the moment, we are still looking for players," he adds.
