Despite the club's poor performance in the Motsepe Foundation Championship, Cape Town Spurs chairman Ari Efstathiou is backing head coach Ernst Middendorp to stay with the club for the rest of the season.
Spurs have found it tough in the second-tier league since suffering relegation from the elite division at the end of last season.

The Ikamva-based outfit is now facing further relegation to the ABC Motsepe League, if their position on the log is anything to go by.
Middendorp's charges are currently sitting second from bottom with only 10 points collected after playing 14 games ahead of Friday's clash against Casric Stars.
Efstathiou has highlighted a few challenges facing the team, including the departure of key players at the beginning of the 2024/25.
"There are a couple of factors, but the main factor is we lost the core of the team, starting line-up players, and others, and a couple of loan players who were first-team players we offered [for them] to stay, but they wanted to play in the PSL," explains Efstathiou, talking to KickOff.com.
"We lost about seven or eight players in total, and that's the team's core taken away.
"To be honest, what added to it is that up until now, we don't have all our attackers back. At one stage, out of six, we had two, and that was a contributing factor that we went through injuries.
"But all are coming back, I think that's going to help."

With his boss's backing, Middendorp hopes to start collecting points in the New Year, starting with the match against Stars at Athlone Stadium.
"Initially, he was not gonna stay. As you know, it's a long-term project. He enjoys working with the youngsters, he likes the club. He likes the professionalism. It was difficult for the coach to stay. He had to compromise his family and be away from his wife, but he is dedicated to his job," added the chairman.
