Clifford Mulenga receives clearance from Jomo Cosmos

Mulenga, who has been training with ABC Motsepe League side Baberwa this season, has been out of competitive football this season after battling to get his clearance from Cosmos.

The former Zambia international midfielder had a number of battles with Ezenkosi owner Jomo Sono regarding allegations of non-payment of salaries and threatened to report him to FIFA.

Baberwa coach Thabo Mashego has confirmed that Mulenga has finally received his clearance but will only be available to play next season.

"Clifford did receive his clearance but will only be available to be registered next season," Mashego tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"The rules in the ABC Motsepe League are different. Despite having his clearance now, he can only be registered next season."

Meanwhile, Mashego has hailed the performance of former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Luyolo Nomandela this season.

Nomandela signed for Baberwa after spending some time in the wilderness.

"Luyolo has been working hard and is slowly regaining his form from before the league was suspended due to the coronavirus," he adds.

"He has made huge progress in terms of his fitness level and has only been disturbed now that the league has been suspended."
