Rodgers, 35, scored some vital goals for Ajax last season despite a disappointing end to their campaign and says he is not even thinking about retiring at this stage.
"Have not yet spoken anything solid, that is news to me just like it is to you," Rodgers tells snl24.com/kickoff when asked about the list of released players.
"I'm not retiring yet. Not after a season like that. I can still play. So if there are any other opportunities I will consider it. It's been the story of my life.
"I doubt that I can force them to do anything, the season was good but we didn't achieve our objective. It will be sad but ja, I'm used to this kind of thing.

"I will say that I'm not sure about which players are staying or leaving but it's possible the more experienced guys will depart. It makes sense that Ajax will make do with the younger players more than the older players.
"But there may be a need for experience as well just like there was in the past season. The club has not yet revealed much in terms of my future yet. In my opinion I have not yet fully been released but my contract is finished. So that makes me free.
"There will be new objectives for the club going forward. I do not know at this time what is actually happening. Hopefully soon we will be more clear as to what is happening."

Rodgers' vast PSL experience and goalscoring ability would possibly interest top-flight newcomers Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, Swallows FC and TS Galaxy.
