The 30-year-old arrived in the country a few weeks ago to join DStv Premiership outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila but was quickly released after the Limpopo club got cold feet while waiting for his clearance.
The Venezuelan has now been offered a chance at the newly-launched Sekhukhune, who bought the status of TTM in the NFD following Lawrence Mulaudzi's purchase of Bidvest Wits.
"Gustavo Paez is starting training with Sekhukhune United FC on Monday, they invited him," the player's agent Gerald Baloyi confirms to snl24.com/kickoff.
"I spoke to Mr Alex [Bapela, technical director] about him, he said he must come. Vodia Players Management have got Paez's clearance from the Venezuelan Football Federation."
Baloyi also explained why he could not get a space for his client in the top tier of South African football, adding: "I spoke to teams [in the Premiership but] they are full of foreign spots."
