JDR Stars to sign Onyedikachi Ononogbu from Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila

The South African-born Nigerian was undergoing an assessment at Rise and Shine in the hope of landing himself a PSL contract but left after two days.

TTM CEO Sello Chokoe has now confirmed that the 21-year-old, who was linked with SuperSport United and Baroka back in August, will be moving to fellow GladAfrica Championship side JDR Stars.

"This Ononogbu boy, we sold him to JDR," Chokoe tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"You know this boy this was his second season you see, so what we did... he was not that hungry, he didn't perform as he did last year you see.

"So then we thought he was looking for a new challenge. Yes, then we sold him. This means we sold him as well as [Nhlanhla] Mgaga, who left for Baroka."

Chokoe was pressed further on what went wrong with Ononogbu's proposed move to City.

"No, they were slow [Polokwane City], unlike JDR. It's like they were not sure, and him too he was not happy with their delay and everything. He trained with them for one or two days, but he was not happy."

Ononogbu confirms he was told to stop training with Clinton Larsen's side over the weekend.

"I haven't signed anywhere [yet] but I will be training there today [at JDR], I will be meeting with them today," Ononogbu adds.

"I don't know what happened at Polokwane, I won't lie. It was a deal between the bosses, I don't know. The TTM CEO [Chokoe] told me [to stop training with Polokwane]. My last session with them was on Saturday."
