Jomo Sono comments on Cosmos relegation concerns in GladAfrica Championship

With Cosmos in real danger of slipping into the third tier of South African football this week, Sono says relegation to the semi-pro leagues is the last thing on his team's mind.

Cosmos take on Steenberg United at Makhulong Stadium today (15h00) and University of Pretoria on Sunday (13h30) as they look to save their status in their two remaining GladAfrica Championship games.

Ezenkosi are 15th on the table with 29 points and have a minus-13 goal difference, worse than all the teams above them except relegated Royal Eagles.

TS Sporting and Mbombela United are also sitting on 29 points in 13th and 14th place respectively.

"Ya we are just looking at that, that's all. I don't want to talk too much to the press, I want to focus on what we are doing here. I will see the press once we are done," Sono tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"In football anything is possible. We can win all of them, we can lose all of them, we can draw all of them. So in soccer you cannot guarantee. Us, we just take each game as it comes.

"We worry about the first game, the second game we will see after playing Steenberg. It's going to be a very difficult game because they are a good team and we respect them so much.

"Anything is possible you know. We don't want to put pressure on our players because of the press. You know the press can build you and it can also destroy you.

"So we've been quiet, we've avoided the press. We let those who are knowledgeable in soccer talk."
