The Mpumalanga-based side will be playing amateur football in the ABC Motsepe League next season following their relegation from the GladAfrica Championship following a points deduction.
Contacted by snl24.com/kickoff for an update on how the club's preparations are going, Mathebula says he is planning to concentrate on developing young talent instead of being a club owner.
"Preparations for ABC Motsepe? No, I'm not preparing for ABC Motsepe. No no no. Football? I'm no longer in football," Mathebula laughs.
"I love football but I will concentrate on the under-12s now. I want to help the next generation and youngsters, those their parents are able to buy soccer boots. That's where I'm helping."
Mathebula says he is willing to offload the club to any person that has the energy run a money-losing venture like owning a soccer team.
"I will give the status to anyone who wants to continue. It will depend on who will take care of it because that person is still going to waste money," he warns.
"To be honest, I'm subsidising it. Spending money is the name of the game. Some of us, we have run our race so other people must come in and take over.
"The intention was never to make money from this. It was to help bring football to Mpumalanga, help some of the guys, and we've done that.
"Now some of the boys have built homes for themselves, bought cars... so we've done our best in terms of social whatever.
"Some of the boys today are playing in the premier league, it's good. So it's not a bad story, it ended badly but we helped the boys."
