Simo Dladla: How Swallows FC got GladAfrica Championship promotion challenge right

Dladla, who is one of the most respected coaches in the first division, believes changing coaches has affected many NFD teams this season, either positively or negatively.

Swallows in particular have managed to get it right and have reaped good results after appointing former Richards Bay coach Brandon Truter as head coach.

"It's hard to say because many coaches lose jobs for different seasons, but it's very important for teams to keep the same players and coaches in our league because it's very tough here," Dladla tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"Swallows managed to make it work because of the quality they possess and now they are almost guaranteed the promotion playoffs position."

The two teams meet in the penultimate round at Tuks Stadium at 15h00 and the former Real Kings coach says the Dube Birds will have to work hard to get three points.

"It's very important for us to take three points against them," Dladla adds. "We haven't been doing well in the bio-bubble and players were starting to lose confidence until our last results.

"We are using these games to prepare for next season and we need to finish strong. We won't be make it easy for Swallows."

Swallows are two points behind leaders Ajax Cape Town with two rounds to go. The Urban Warriors take on JDR Stars at Rand Stadium today.

Elsewhere in the playoff picture there is also a huge clash between third-placed Tshakhuma Tsha Madzhivhandila and fourth-placed Uthongathi FC going down at Sturrock Park.
