Nomvethe had called it quits at the end of the 2018/19 season and was even promised a position within the the AmaZulu structures.
However, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates star decided to come out of retirement last year December when GladAfrica Championship club Uthongathi FC came calling.
After playing only eight matches for the KwaZulu-Natal side, the already 42-year-old was expected to again hang up his boots at the end of last season. Now he confirms he will be returning for the 2020/21 campaign.
"I'm still with Uthongathi, I haven't started training yet but I'm continuing with them," he tells snl24.com/kickoff.
"The reason I haven't returned to training yet is because I was busy with the Battle of the Sports thing, where we travelled 200 kilometres. So at the moment I'm back home resting. So the body is still tired. But definitely I will go back and play this season.
"You know if this thing is in you it motivates you to continue playing, but it's not like I'm competing for something you know. It's not like I'm challenging the boys. It's them that must challenge to break my record if they are looking for a challenge.
"My presence motivates them. As a veteran in this game it's important for me to tell these boys what's wrong and what's right.
"I want to continue scoring but it's difficult to set targets. It's not like that in football. If you promise people that you will score 500, then we will be expecting that 500 [laughs]. The performance will speak for itself. Yes, I've still got pace you see, nothing has changed despite my age."
