Struggling Baroka overhaul technical team

Baroka FC chairman Khurishi Mphahlele has overhauled his technical team to address the club's recent poor performances in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

The once-promising club has failed to make progress under Vincent Kobola, who took over from Kgoloko Thobejane last season.

Kobola has since failed to save the club from relegation from the DStv Premiership and has continued to struggle in the second tier.

Bakgakga have now appointed former Tshwane University of Technology mentor Bushy Moloi as their new head coach.

Following their bad start in the first division this season, it will be difficult for the Limpopo club to gain promotion back to the Premier Soccer League.

They are currently sitting in position 13 on the 16-team league after 11 matches played.

They have only gathered 11 points.

Their next match is against neighbours Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on January 04, 2023.

Only three points separate them with the bottom of the table Pretoria Callies FC and 14 behind table toppers Polokwane City.

It is not the first time Moloi is with Baroka as he once served as former coach Wedson Nyirenda's assistant.

It was under Moloi when the Tshwane University of Technology won the USSA Football Club Championship in 2017.

He was also awarded the coach of the tournament the same year.

In the same year, TUT were runners-up in the Varsity Football Tournament, losing to UP-Tuks in the final before redeeming themselves the following year by winning the Varsity Football title.
