Thobani Mncwango signs for Cape Town Spurs - PSL transfer news

Cape Town Spurs have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of former Bidvest Wits striker Thobani Mncwango.

The one-time capped South African international has suffered a tumultuous period in the South African top-flight since developing into one of the leading strikers in the league with Polokwane City between 2013 and 2018.

His 20 goals in 70 games attracted the attention of former national team coach Shakes Mashaba, where he then made his debut in an international friendly against Ghana before his lucrative switch to the now-defunct Bidvest Wits.

However, he's now failed to find the back of the net in two consecutive seasons with the Students and Black Leopards respectively and will now look to find his form once again in the GladAfrica Championship.

"Cape Town Spurs have agreed a deal to sign Thobani Mncwango, subject to him passing a medical," the statement read on their official Twitter account.

The 32-year-old becomes Vladislav Heric's fifth official signing of the off-season as he looks to steer the Urban Warriors back into the top-flight.
