TS Sporting await PSL DRC hearing in Mbombela United dispute

The PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber must still set a new date for the protest lodged by Abafana Bomthetho against Tingwenyama.

Sporting lodged the dispute after Mbombela fielded striker Sabelo Ndzinisa during their first-round fixture in Nelspruit, claiming the player had also signed for them.

Vusi Ntimane, the Sporting manager, has confirmed their outstanding protest and that they are waiting for the DRC to set a new date for the hearing.

"Yes, it's true that the player signed with us before joining Mbombela United," Ntimane tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"He signed the contract before his agent during the Cosafa Cup tournament in Durban and we were surprised later to learn that he has joined Mbombela United.

"We wrote a letter to the PSL at the start of the season to notify them about this matter. We warned Mbombela United not to use the player even before our game with them, but they continued to use him and hence we protested.

"The case was postponed after Mbombela United requested a new date. This was after they said they want to seek the services of a translator because Ndzinisa couldn't understand English.

"As the matter stands now we are still waiting for the DRC to set a new date to hear this matter."

United manager Pat Mabuza refused to be drawn on the subject, saying the matter is still with the DRC.

Mbombela and Sporting are two points above the relegation zone in the GladAfrica Championship on 28 points apiece, sitting 13th and 14th respectively separated by goal difference.

United are set to play leaders Ajax Cape Town in their last game of the season. The Urban Warriors are running neck-and-neck with Swallows FC in the battle for promotion.
