Uthongathi puts lives before promotion

After State President Cyril Ramaphosa extended lockdown until the end of April, it pushes any football restart even further back and increases the uncertainty about what will happen in the sporting arena.

There are many arguments around what should happen at the top of the Absa Premiership forgetting that there are also teams in the first division who have a lot to lose or gain if the PSL were to decide to end the current season.

Uthongathi, who in contention for promotion alongside Ajax Cape Town and Swallows FC, have shared their thoughts on the ongoing debate about the current state of football.

"If the PSL decides to declare the season null and void because of the current situation we will support that. We believe any decision taken by the League will be in protection of South Africans' lives."

Uthongathi's stance is that nothing is more important than people's lives, and they are willing to do whatever is necessary because COVID-19 is dangerous and demands everyone to be selfless.

"The safely of our people is the most important thing, it's the first priority," Chili adds.

"Because this virus is dangerous and it must be taken seriously. We urge everyone to be safe and take it seriously."
