Why TTM refuses to pay Masibusane Zongo his salary

Zongo has not been receiving any payment lately and is believed to be struggling to make ends meet as a result, and has decided to take the matter to the South African Footballers Players Union (SAFPU).

Zongo's relationship with Vhadau Vha Damani turned sour after the Cape Town game against Cape Umoya United on Friday, 28 February.

He was given permission by the club to attend to family matters after that match but then did not report for training on 3 March as expected.

"And when he rejoined the rest of his teammates two weeks later, he was slapped with suspension until he appeared before the DC, which never happened due to lockdown," the club's communications manager Tshidino Ndou tells snl24.com/kickoff.

"The player was suspended and awaits his appearance before the club's Disciplinary Committee."

When asked about Zongo's complaint, Ndou said: "No work, no pay policy is applied to all the club's employees.

"Because he is on suspension, no work no pay applies. So he complains that he was not paid. As for Zongo, it's no work, no pay because he's still serving his suspension... he is just fooling himself.

"From when he disappeared... and that is from that date obviously, we cannot pay him up until he appears [in front of the DC]."

According to Ndou, the club has parted ways with Jean Munganga after reaching a six-month settlement agreement.
