Debutant Ndiviwe Mdabuka snatched an unlikely victory from a game in which Ajax were second best for large periods, but Scott praised their work-rate.

“I think the team did a fantastic job tonight. The teamwork, the team effort, the collective work we put in together as a team paid off,” he said.
“It was fantastic. Big ups to my team and well done for progressing to the next round of the MTN8.”
The midfielder admitted that his side were far from their best but also praised the players who made their Ajax debuts.
“The boys are not there yet, we were struggling a little bit tonight after the 60th minute, but we can only grow from here,” he added.
“Ndiviwe [Mdabuka] did well tonight, he scored on debut, even Prince [Nxumalo] and Ruzaigh [Gamildien], all of them contributed to the win. They were all great additions to the squad.”
Ajax assistant coach Ian Taylor, sitting in for the suspended Roger de Sa, added: “We were hungrier on the night and it showed in our play.
“In the first half we were lethargic, the movement was not great, but I was impressed with in the second half. We stepped up and got the goal.
“I was a bit worried about our fitness. We didn't come here to defend deep. We defended deep because our legs gave in. It was the situation, but the guys showed guts and held on.”
